Brushing Up On The Basics

Sep-2011

Gary,

As we prepare for 2008, we are reminded that many people often feel uncomfortable with the “language” of finances and investments. This discomfort can prevent you from becoming educated and from being able to communicate about your finances. It doesn’t have to be that way and the solution is quite simple!

A suggestion we give Christian Ministry Professionals who want to understand finances is to read USA Today’s Money section once a week. The articles are written in an easy-to-understand style and will introduce you to financial concepts and lingo without talking over your head.

Quick Cents Application Points:

  1. What do you read to learn about finances and stay up-to-date on financial information?
  2. What can you realistically do each week in 2008 to improve your financial knowledge?
  3. Discuss how you would feel and behave if you were more educated about finances?
